I learned that Joyce used the phrase "Green Fairy's Fang" as slang for absinthe. I seem to recall reading that absinthe was once again legal in parts of the world. I assume it is made minus wormwood now, but I do not actually know.
It is made with wormwood. The most commonly recognized active ingredient is thujone and the new laws regulate the amount of thujone, in parts per million, for commercially available absinthe. However there are quite a few home producers who disdain such wimpy behavior. Would you like to try some?
